I hope you are having a great week. Friday is Read Across
America Day. In celebration of this day, the 5th grade teachers are
dressing up as characters from the beloved children’s book, Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory. We would like to invite our students to participate in the
fun. All 5th graders are invited to dress up as the most memorable
characters from the book, the Oompa Loompas. There are many DIY ideas for this
costume on Pinterest and Google. There are also wigs and green hairspray on
sale for cheap at Target in the dollar spot and at Party City due to the
approaching St. Patrick’s Day holiday. I will purchase some white tape that we
can use to make the suspenders for the shirts if your child would like to bring
in a brown shirt to prepare for the costume on Thursday or Friday.
If your child would like to dress up as a different book
character, that is perfectly fine. Please be sure to send in the book
associated with the costume.
