Attendance!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Coming to school every day on-time is a key ingredient to student success. The Teasley Attendance Team wants to reward those students who come to school ready to learn and on time every day. Any student who has perfect attendance through the end of the 1st 9 weeks, Friday, October 6th, will receive recognition for their attendance. These students will receive a free dress down day, a surprise treat, and their pictures will be featured on the WWTN news broadcast. Students who have perfect attendance for the entire school year will be invited to a special celebration during the last week of school to praise their commitment to their education. Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Informational Meeting

Hello Parents,

Your child’s classroom teacher may implement a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative sometime during the school year. Participation in the BYOD is completely voluntary. Students who bring their own devices will be guided by their teacher in its use within the classroom. BYOD programs enhance the learning process by providing additional resources to participating students. These initiatives also encourage and support responsible use of electronic devices in our ever-expanding digital age. If you have any questions about the BYOD program, you are invited to a meet with our Library Media Specialist on August 23rd from 8:00 to 9:00 AM in the Professional Learning room located in the Front Office area. Ms. Crosby will be glad to tell you more about how classrooms utilize devices brought from home and answer any other questions.

Club and ParentVUE Update

Distinguished Gentlemen/PEARLS
“Teasley Elementary would like to invite all students that are currently in 3rd-5th grades to apply to be a member of Distinguished Gentlemen/PEARLS.  This is a wonderful opportunity for students who were not a part of this wonderful mentorship program previously,  to be a part of it this year.  If your child is interested in joining a group of young individuals that want to make a change in their school and community, please completely read the requirements and commitments of DG/PEARLS below.
·       Each Wednesday, leaders are required to wear khaki pants, a white button-down dress shirt, a tie, and dress shoes (for the gentlemen) khaki bottoms, a white cardigan, and nice shoes ( for young ladies).  Please, no tennis shoes.
·       Families must be able to attend the Induction Ceremony held at Teasley Elementary on August 24th at 6:30 p.m.
·       Leaders must be committed to meetings each Wednesday from 2:35-4:00 p.m. and must have transportation or attend ASP after being dismissed after each meeting.
·       Parent(s) agree to provide a three-prong folder and pay a $20 membership fee (for the entire year).  The membership fee may be paid at the Induction Ceremony.
·       Students must be committed to completing their Leadership logs and earning their levels.

If you’re up for the challenge, please complete the form via the link here - https://goo.gl/forms/sVNSMhr66Wbwpig42.  Although we’d love to have each student that applies, membership is based on a lottery system.   Students that are chosen for DG/PEARLS will have their parents notified by August 21st. Submissions will be accepted through Friday, August 18th @ 2:45 pm.  Good luck!”

ParentVUE (Grades 4, 5, and Up)

ParentVUE activation codes came home today for the parents who never activated their accounts last year.  If you get an activation code, please be sure to create a username and password that you will remember.  This will follow your child all throughout high school, if they stay in Cobb County.

If you did not get an activation code, it is because you already have an active account.  If you have trouble logging on, please contact me at laura.kraftschik@cobbk12.org

On the right side of this page, you will find a ParentVUE links page.  Please click this to find a welcome letter to parents as well as a quick start guide.  As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
